Privacy Policy

Roast Mode (“the App”, “we”, “us”, or “our”) is operated by Serafinity, based in Zagreb, Croatia. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and protect your information when you use the Roast Mode mobile application.

By using Roast Mode, you agree to the collection and use of information in accordance with this policy. If you do not agree, please do not use the App.

1. What information we process

Roast Mode is designed to collect as little data as possible. We process the following:

a) Voice recordings

When you press the microphone button, the App records your voice and temporarily uploads the recording to our storage in order to process it. The recording is then sent to our transcription service provider for conversion into text. Voice recordings are deleted shortly after they have been processed and are not retained long-term.

b) Transcribed text

The text transcript of your spoken input is sent to our AI service provider to generate a response. Text transcripts are held only in temporary app memory during your active session and are discarded when you close the App.

c) AI-generated audio responses

The AI’s text response is converted to speech by our text-to-speech provider and played back to you. These generated audio files are also deleted shortly after playback.

d) Technical and device information

Standard technical data is processed by our app platform, including general device type, operating system version, and timestamps of API requests. This information is used solely to operate the App and diagnose technical issues.

2. What we do NOT collect

  • We do not require you to create an account.
  • We do not collect your name, email address, phone number, or other contact details.
  • We do not collect your location.
  • We do not collect your contacts, photos, or files on your device.
  • We do not use advertising identifiers or tracking SDKs.
  • We do not serve ads.
  • We do not sell or share your data with third parties for advertising or marketing purposes.

3. Third-party service providers

Roast Mode uses the following third-party services to process voice and generate responses:

  • Bubble.io — app platform and temporary file storage
  • Deepgram — speech-to-text transcription
  • Groq — AI language model for generating responses
  • ElevenLabs — text-to-speech voice synthesis

These providers process your data only as necessary to deliver their specific service and are contractually bound to their own privacy and security standards. Links to their privacy policies:

4. Microphone permission

Roast Mode requires access to your device’s microphone in order to record your voice. Microphone access is only used when you actively press the microphone button. The App does not listen in the background.

You can revoke microphone permission at any time through your device’s settings. Without microphone permission, the App’s core functionality will not work.

5. Data retention

  • Voice recordings: deleted shortly after processing.
  • Generated audio responses: deleted shortly after playback.
  • Text transcripts: held only in active session memory and discarded when the app is closed.
  • Technical logs: retained by our service providers for up to 30 days for troubleshooting purposes.

We do not build persistent profiles of users.

6. Content and intended use

Roast Mode generates deliberately provocative, insulting, and sarcastic responses as a form of stress-relief entertainment. The responses are fictional AI output and do not reflect the views of Serafinity. The App is intended for adult users only and should not be used by anyone who may be distressed by harsh or confrontational language.

If you feel distressed while using the App, please stop using it immediately.

7. Your rights

Depending on your location (for example, under the EU General Data Protection Regulation or the UK Data Protection Act), you may have the right to:

  • Request information about what data we process about you
  • Request deletion of any data we may hold about you
  • Object to our processing
  • Lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority

Because we do not maintain user accounts or persistent user identifiers, in most cases we do not hold identifiable data about you that could be retrieved or deleted. However, if you believe we may hold data relating to you, please contact us at the address below.

8. Children

Roast Mode is not intended for children under the age of 13 (or under 16 in the European Union). We do not knowingly process data from children. If you believe a child has used the App, please contact us and we will take appropriate steps.

9. Security

We use industry-standard security practices to protect data while it is being processed, including HTTPS encryption for all data in transit. However, no method of transmission or storage is 100% secure.

10. International transfers

Our service providers may be located outside of your country, including in the United States. By using the App, you acknowledge that your data may be transferred and processed in these locations. Our providers commit to appropriate data protection standards.

11. Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Material changes will be reflected by updating the “Last updated” date at the top of this page. Continued use of the App after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of the revised policy.
